DANCEFIT is a brilliant dance-based class, easy to follow and with awesome music! We love this class, it's such good fun and makes you happy! It's a great way to burn some calories, improve co-ordination and listen to some great tunes. You need a small amount of co-ordination, but we certainly aren't dancers so don't worry you won't be good enough - we make a lot of mistakes and it's always fun.
FITNESS PILATES A lovely class to strengthen, lengthen and relax. This is a great low-impact class suitable for both beginners and fitness bunnies alike - it's particularly good for runners & cyclists who need to improve their flexibility & work on core strength. This is a Pilates 'based' class using Pilates-style conditioning exercises that work your whole body, emphasising posture, glutes, abdominals, shoulders & back. We sometimes use mini balls & bands to assist. If you have serious back problems then it's not the class for you, but minor wear & tear is fine! Get in touch if you're not sure.
KETTLEBELLS/KETTLEBELLS HIIT An AWESOME class to make you sweat, get strong and have fun! Using a kettlebell (provide your own), we work through a variety of moves that challenge and work the entire body - you will sweat, you will ache, you will hate me, but you will go home fitter and stronger and with your life changed! Pure Kettlebells is low impact (i.e there is no bouncing about) and uses the weight all the way through; Kettlebells/HIIT mashup has a mixture of both kettlebell and body weight exercises and is a bit more hardcore..!
FITNESS YOGA This is a fitness-based Yoga class incorporating deep stretch, Yoga postures and fitness principles in one class. You can really expect to improve your strength and flexibility within 8 weeks - we have seen some incredible results in this class! There is none of the 'mystery' of traditional yoga; exercises are chosen for their physical benefits to improve strength, flexibility & co-ordination, and for relaxation.
BOOTCAMP Early mornings the best time for you? Then you need to join the Bootcamp gang, who are always weirdly upbeat and fun first thing in the morning! Using HIIT, bodyweight & sometimes weights, this is a great class for an all over workout that works on strength, stamina and overall fitness. No co-ordination required, but a love of burpees helps...!
TONING & MOANING A fun, low-impact class using handweights (ideally dumbbells but can be adapted to do with a kettlebell) we work the whole body with upper and lower body sets and usually some core strength work too for good measure. There is no jumping/bouncing so it's a great class if you're not ready for impact (or just don't like it!) However, don't be mislead into thinking it's easy - if you have the right size weights it's a GREAT all over workout that will target the whole body. TUESDAY MIX A perfect mix of our favourite Tone & Moan for 30 mins, then 30 mins of Fitness Pilates/Yoga stretch/relaxation to finish off. Suitable for all levels of fitness, this class combines all you need in one go - strength, cardio, core, flexibility & relaxation all in one go :-) You'll need some dumbbells (or a kettlebell) and a mat. Starts September 7th at the St Laurence Room.
